Classroom Sounds 🎼

Hello welcome to my blog,. We were working on designing a classroom, but making sure it still abided by the covid regulations. We went to the Sonic Pavilion Festival to see how sound can effect an environment. We listened to several pieces of music, one thing that stuck out to me was Sonorous Admittings by, Kioto Aoki. The things that stuck out to me was the drums, it made me think of all the woman who break the glass ceilings.

It made me think about the many different places that we learn. As humans were adapted to learning in one central space in one stationary position. What I learned is that you don’t need a classroom to learn, you can learn in any environment. Wether it be in a field or on the train your still learning and adapting to your surroundings. We take what we learn in the outside world and apply it to school. It doesn’t mean that we’re stuck on one thing life teaches us to be happy, life teaches us to have social skills and so much more. It doesn’t depend on the space you learn it in. It depends on the person who trying to learn it. We all learn in different ways.

Am I really a Global Peace Maker?

Hello all! It's been quite some time since I last made a blog post. First I wish you all a wonderful Merry Christmas, and an amazing new year! This term, I was in a class called Global peace, this term we focused on methods that would and should bring attention to issues in our community, in nonviolent ways. Global peace also focused on the Gandhian principles of truth, nonviolence, Sarvadoya, and Satyagraha. In Global Peace, we went on some inspiring FEs like the neighborhood walk. On this FE we got to walk through two different neighborhoods and observe the differences between them. For this AP I had to make a plan to combat an issue, I chose gun violence, and the purpose of this is to promote a sense that we are all welcome, and we can all live in a community without violence. The purpose is also to show that we are on a united front to stand against gun violence. In this Spanish unit, we focused on expanding our vocabulary related to food, cooking, and dining. Our goal was to learn and apply food-related terms and phrases, specifically using them in the context of a video demonstration. For the project, I chose a specific dish to showcase, narrating the preparation process to demonstrate my Spanish-speaking skills, the use of the preterit tense, and tú commands. The vocabulary covered an extensive range of food items, cooking utensils, condiments, and kitchen essentials needed to prepare meals. We were also tasked with designing a menu, where we included images of various foods or dishes, each with prices we thought were suitable for a mock restaurant. The process was challenging yet rewarding, particularly in selecting the dish to prepare and recording the audio narration in Spanish while cooking—a task that tested my pronunciation and fluency in a real-time setting. How deep do your values go?

Welcome to my first AP of the term in Forbidden Books . This class, as the name states, is about censored/banned books and literature. We will dig deeper into understanding the reasons why books and texts were banned. We have had the opportunity to start the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, which was banned in the United States, South Africa, and multiple school districts around the US. For the first portion of this unit, we learned about a Socratic seminar and the "Socratic method." The Socratic method is a form of teaching and learning that involves asking questions instead of providing answers. It is a method of discussion, often used in philosophy and critical thinking. The goal of the Socratic method is to encourage critical thinking and understanding by asking questions that challenge assumptions and lead to deeper understanding.
